I should technically be writing about my trip to Germany, but Ibiza is fresher in my mind, so...
On a Thursday I left work early so I could get to the airport for our 3pm flight. I bet Taelyr at Barajas airport. We checked in and had an interesting lunch of crappy salad, fries and lemonade. Healthy.
The flight to Ibiza went off without a hitch. I was worried about flying Ryanair because I've heard so many bad things about it, especially regarding baggage etc. Luckily everything turned out ok (And Taelyr's bag JUST fit). The flight from Madrid to Ibiza was around 50 minutes to an hour. Less time than it takes me to get to one of my jobs on the metro.
Once we got off the plane we were bathed in sunlight! SUN! It was so exciting. After watching weather forecasts for the past few weeks, we were worried that it was going to be horrible and cold. It was just the best weather and it was only 4pm! We hopped on a bus into Ibiza city to try and find our hotel. When we arrived at the port, we realised we had NO idea where we were, so we hopped in a taxi to take us to the hotel. We wanted to make the most of the beautiful afternoon on the beach.
We arrived outside our hotel only to realise that it was closed. A sign on the door directed us to another hotel around the corner. When we enquired at that hotel we were then told that we had been assigned to ANOTHER hotel down the road. Super frustrating. So we set off, and then 5 minutes later arrived at our hotel (finally). We set down our things, put on our bathers, and headed straight to the beach.
The sun was still out and it was lovely and warm. We bought some snacks beforehand and just relaxed in the sun and ate pringles. Perfect afternoon! When the sun started to go down we decided that drinks were the best idea. We went and had cocktails next to the beach. Pina colada for T and a mojito for me. Heaven! We then walked back to the hotel and decided to get ready for dinner.

We walked into Ibiza city, which was about 10 minutes away. We had no idea what we wanted for dinner at first, so we just walked around and around. We stumbled across the deliciousness that is Llaollao. Llaollao is shop that sells DELICIOUS Frozen Yoghurt! Oh man! You get heaps of Yoghurt and toppings such as fruit and different sauces and nuts etc. Its amazing. Since we didnt know what we wanted for dinner, we thought that having dessert first was a good idea. Once full on Fro Yo we kept walking and came across a nice Italian restaurant where we decided to have dinner. We got a jarra of cava sangria and I had gnocchi and T had fish. A good meal!
After a filling dinner, we set off back to the hotel and collapsed into our beds and went to sleep. A busy day!
The next day we woke up after a little sleep in and packed up our stuff to move to our next hotel, where we would be meeting Laura and Emely. Finding said hotel was a NIGHTMARE! We couldnt find the right street. It felt like we were walking forEVER! almost 2 hours after leaving the first hotel we found the right one only to be told that we had been assigned at ANOTHER hotel. We were super pissed. Another 15-20 mins later we arrived at the RIGHT hotel. We got a pretty sweet deal for about 10 euros a night. It was a resort style hotel with a pool, restaurant etc etc. The day was nice, so once we got settled we got into our bathers again and went pool side. We got some clara and relaxed, only to be interrupted by some drink Britons. There were alot of British people in Ibiza. I think its where they all go for some sun...but anyway the sun only lasted about 30 mins. We then decided that lunch was better than being in the cold wind and being harassed.
After lunch we went to the supermarket and got some drinkies and sat on the balcony and enjoyed the sun, which decided to make another appearance. A lovely and relaxing afternoon!...We still hadn't heard from Emely and Laura, and after making a call they told us that they were still in Madrid due to the stupidity of their airline, meaning that they wouldnt arrive until about 1am at the hotel.
We decided to make our way into Ibiza city to pass the time until they arrived. We made another trip to Llaollao for Fro Yo deliciousness and then walked around the city. We walked up a massive massive MASSIVE hill so we could see the whole of Ibiza city. It was so lovely when we finally got up there! The sun was setting, so it was a perfect sight! Then dinner called. Kebab shop stop. Yes yes! We then returned to our hotel room after acquiring some beers and made some clara while we waited for the girls to arrive. Laura and Emely arrived at around 1am and we were all pooped so made our way to our rooms to have a sleep to be ready for the next day.
The next day we set out at about 10am to the Hippy Market about 45 mins from Ibiza city. There were many stalls there selling clothes and other items. There was a little Moroccan tent selling pastries, iced mint tea and chai tea. We all decided to sit down and have a little snack and a drink before setting exploring the whole market. Once fed and watered we went around the market. I managed to spend more money than I needed to and bought 2 dresses and a slik scarf. Oops.
Later in the afternoon we went and had lunch and Llaollao (again) and then walked to where Pacha Ibiza was. We were thinking of going but there was NO WAY I was going to spend 30 euros on a club. The afternoon was spent relaxing at the hotel. After dinner we went out onto the beach (which was right next to the hotel) and started singing some tunes in the dark. we are way too cool. Until we were interrupted by some random guy...
The next day was T and my final day in Ibiza. We spent it laying on the beach and just having a general relaxing afternoon. The sun was shining and it was just the perfect day! I didn't want to leave Ibiza and go back to Madrid! At around 3pm we caught a taxi to the airport and finally made our way back to normality in Madrid. The weather wasn't as good as in Ibiza and I think it rained that night.
I had a fantastic time in Ibiza! I recommend it!!!!
